Just a week ago, Alliance for Life Ontario launched a new website because we think it is time that this great country of Canada protected its own.
If you are a Canadian residing in your mother’s womb, then you do not legally exist.
- Nevermind, that your mother is counseled not to drink alcohol, smoke cigarettes or take certain drugs because all of these may effect your growth and future health.
- Nevermind, that 3D and 4D ultrasound shows you moving around, scratching your nose, waving, yawning and crying.
- Nevermind, that the doctor treats you as the second patient if your mother “wants” you!
- Nevermind, that there are websites which discuss educating your child before birth.
- Nevermind, that hundreds of life-saving surgeries have been performed on children prior to birth.
- Nevermind that three out of every four children are carried to term in Canada every year.
So remind my why the lives of children before birth are not protected?
Did you know that before the Omnibus Bill passed in 1969, Canadian law actually protected the lives of its pre-born children? Statutes of Canada, 1953-54 Section 45, Chapter 51 stated: “(2) A person commits homicide when he causes injuries to a child before or during its birth as a result of which the child dies.”
In 1969, to enable the abortion provisions, the following deadly words: “after becoming a human being,” were added to the end of this section. These few words were the death knell for over 3,000,000 Canadians in the years that have followed.
